Bill No 8371, which provides for the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has been put on the agenda of the next session of the Verkhovna Rada.

At the next meeting, the Verkhovna Rada will vote in the first reading for bill No 8371, which provides for the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports LB with reference to its own sources.

It is noted that for the adoption of the bill in the first reading, at least 240 votes out of the 226 necessary have been collected.

According to the publication, the leader of the faction "Servant of the People" David Arakhamiya and his deputy Andrii Motovilovets did not sign under the appeal to the speaker of the Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk to put the bill on the agenda. The MPs explained their decision by the fact that they did not want to "pressure" their parliamentary colleagues.

As reported, an EU MP complained that "foreign partners" did not understand the danger of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
