DESS invites activists to discuss a law against antisemitism.

The State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) has called on the public to focus on protecting the rights of Jews in Ukraine. On its Facebook page, DESS posted an invitation to participate in discussions on a draft law titled "Amendments to the Law of Ukraine 'On Preventing and Countering Antisemitism' Regarding the Appointment of a Special Coordinator for Combating Antisemitism."

According to the DESS leadership, the aim of these amendments is to safeguard Jewish rights, prevent discrimination based on ethnicity and religious beliefs, designate a government body to combat antisemitism, and create legal conditions for DESS to effectively address antisemitism.

The State Ethnopolitics Service also believes that protecting Jews will help Ukraine move closer to the European Union: "To fulfill the recommendations of the European Commission as part of Ukraine's process of obtaining candidate status for EU membership."

Previously, the UOJ reported that Ukrainian political and military leaders have participated in Jewish rituals on a large scale.
