A man, convinced that God does not want people to bear arms, has been sentenced to three years in prison.

On 13 December 2024, during a public prosecution by the Khmelnytskyi District Prosecutor's Office, the court found a 35-year-old local man guilty of evading military service (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), reports the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office website.

The man refused to serve in the army due to his religious beliefs. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

During the trial, the prosecution proved that the man underwent a military medical commission, which declared him fit for military service. However, he categorically refused to accept the summons and did not appear at the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) for deployment.

The convicted man did not admit his guilt. He justified his refusal to serve in the army by his religious views, as he believes that God does not want people to take up arms.

The court's verdict has not yet come into force and may be appealed.

As earlier reported by the UOJ, according to Zelensky, the believers of Ukraine are placing great hope in Trump.
