Catholic bishop Jan Sobylo attacked in Zaporozhie
On the night of August 17, a resident of Zaporozhie attacked the Roman Catholic Cathedral of God the Father of Mercy and bishop of the Kharkov-Zaporozhie diocese of the Roman Catholic Church Jan Sobylo, reports Slovo Today.

The hooligan threw stones and trash on the territory of the cathedral, damaged a nearby monument to Polish prisoners of war, who were held in the camp of the NKVD in 1939-1940, and then rushed with fists at the bishop of the Kharkov-Zaporozhie diocese of the Roman Catholic Church Jan Sobylo. The bishop received minor injuries.

The staff members calmed the offender, detained him, tied him to a bench and called the police. The perpetrator was a 39-year-old resident of Zaporozhie.

The Catholic bishop is known for his harsh statements about radicals and anti-war sentiments. Earlier, Jan Sobylo said that Ukraine could not be sold for visa-free travel.
