Arestovych: Russia's war against Ukraine is justified for the Pope

Former adviser to the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich said that for the Pope, Russia's war against Ukraine is justified, in a sense.

In a conversation with Yuri Romanenko and Nikolai Feldman, published on Arestovych’s YouTube channel, Zelensky’s former adviser said that “in Western universities, neo-Marxism is the prevailing ideology, the main narrative of which is that everyone is right, everyone needs to be heard.”

According to him, "too much faith in rationality leads them to the fact that they think in the metamodern paradigm – everyone has their own truth, including Russia."

Arestovych believes that in this sense, “the Pope can be considered a good example”: “From the point of view of Peter and Catherine II, this war is even justified somewhere; one cannot sweep aside Russia’s claims indiscriminately.”

“And just a few people have the academic and intellectual courage to call a spade a spade. Not because they are scoundrels, but because they really think that Russia has its own rights,” Arestovych emphasized.

He noted that if "to directly call Putin an international criminal, which he is, to call the regime criminal, fascist and all the bad words, then you will have to do a lot of actions."

“For example, ask yourself: how is such a state (Russia – Ed.) still heads the UN Security Council and is its permanent member. How do international arenas approach it generally?” says Arestovich.

According to him, “too much will have to be changed in the world, but they don’t want to change it. They would like everyone to reconcile, so that a Russian girl with a Ukrainian girl would walk around Rome with a wreath as a sign of reconciliation.”

“They sincerely think that this will lead to peace. However, we have Yevgeny Prigozhin, who went along this way, he agreed with Putin. I advise the Nobel Committee, the UN, and everyone else who wants to talk to Putin to call upon the spirit of Prigozhin and speak with him. And then they will understand what it means to negotiate with Putin,” summed up the former adviser to the President of Ukraine.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the spokesperosn of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podolyak, in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, said that after the words of the pope about praising the Russian empire, it is time to ask the question – what the Catholic Church is.
